67pp: Jules Renard's charming 'Histoires naurelles' has become a classic in France, illustrated many times over by such artists as Toulouse Lautrec Bonnard and Steinlin, but it has never found a similar niche in the English language market. This translation of an abbreviated version with the illustrations by Toulouse Lautrec was published by the prestigious German art publisher (still 'in exile') Cassirer under an unusual title. A drawing by Toulouse Lautrec decoates the dustjacket and front board. A fine copy without signature, bookplate or marks fine.
