Pound, Ezra (Atheling, Walter)
ANTHEIL and The Treatise on Harmony
Pascal Covici, Chicago, 1927. Cloth. First US Edition.
150pp: One of Pound's misjudgements was the assertion that the creative genius in music to match Wyndham Lewis, Pablo Picasso and Gaudier-Brzeska (his choices) was George Antheil. Antheil was famous for being famous before the clich?'s time. Still, the poet has some interesting things to say on music if one looks past this misstep. A fine copy: dark red cloth with black stamped titles on front and spine. Signature of a member of the Ten Eyck Lansing family, a previous owner, in a tidy and graceful hand. Fine. No Jacket.
